Our Mission

Austem's Mission is to establish the rightful place of native flora in the Australian home, garden and landscape.

Austem will initiate and facilitate a dialogue to ascertain the rightful place of native flora in the Australian home, garden and landscape: • What unique attributes and qualities can native flora contribute to the Australian home, garden and landscape? • How can native flora complement and enhance traditional “exotic” flora - or should it be the other way around? • Can native flora facilitate a uniquely “Australian look” for the Australian home, garden and landscape – redefining beauty in terms of colours, textures, shapes and forms? Austem will invest and innovate to ensure that native flora takes its rightful place in the Australian home, garden and landscape: • What enhancements are required to the current attributes and qualities of native flora in terms of colours, textures, shapes and forms? • What selection, breeding, agronomy and market development are required to enhance the current floral range and palette? • How do we contribute to the development of a vibrant and flourishing native flora industry?
